10/28/2019 0 Comments Niagara County Central School ordered immediate dismissal of students after second plane hit Twin TowersOn September 11,2001 New York.City was attacked in one of the most horrendous days in American history. Shortly after tower 2 was hit, district administrators evacuated schools for early dismissal, while head administrators stayed in school Niagara County CSD Superintendent Drake Wilcox made a statement which was posted to the district's former website. In the statement Wilcox wrote "Today our nation grieves and watches in horror as our closest relatives, friends and colleagues work hard, in dangerous conditions to rescue those caught in the twin towers, following the blow the United States was hit with. At this time we have dismissed all students to go home to be with their families. Please note school will be back in session tomorrow.
